Eastern bluebirds are one of my favorite visitors. I set out a bluebird box every spring, and this year I have added several more. I love seeing the entire process of nesting and raising the new hatchlings.
The couple always thoroughly check every box before choosing just the right one, and they build their nest from materials around the yard.
The eggs are a beautiful blue, and the hatchlings become so cute as they grow. Their chirps echo across the yard as the parents keep them fed.
The new fledglings stay close to the parents as they grow and learn, and I always hope they will return as next spring’s bluebirds.
I would like to thank a very special friend Julie, from Dallas, Texas, for the wonderful handmade cedar bluebird box, and also wish her a very happy birthday! We share a love of nature and birds, and she inspires me with her amazing knowledge and photography and kindness.

I am working on a real studio to paint in so I haven’t painted very much for a while other than practicing in journals. When I get it all set up I will let you know. I hope to display some of my paintings and get busy painting more birds!!

I love seeing the bluebirds as well . We don’t have any nesting boxes but they do visit our yard. Your pictures of the family are wonderful to see.
